* 본문 : 사도행전 9장 8-21절 말씀 (Acts 9: 8-21)

지난 주 여러분께 ‘복음이 능력인가?’라는 질문을 드렸습니다. 한 주간 동안 고민해보라고 숙제를 드렸습니다. 고민하셨습니까? 이제 대답을 해 보십시오. 복음은 우리의 마음과 삶의 변화의 능력이 맞습니까? 복음은 나를 변화시키고 나를 통해서 가정과 교회와 지역사회와 시대를 변화시키는 하나님의 놀라운 능력입니까? 복음... 십자가의 복음...... 그런데 문제는 내가 이미 복음을 믿고 있다는 것입니다. 나 예수 믿는데.... 도대체 무엇을 어떻게 하란 말이야...?라고 질문하실 수 있습니다. 저도 여러분께 숙제를 내드리고 한 주간동안 이 문제를 어떻게 설명할까 고민했었습니다. 

 

Last week I asked you, 'Is the Gospel a power?' I gave you homework to think about it for a week. Did you think about it? Now, let’s response. Is the Gospel the power to change our minds and lives? Is the Gospel an amazing power of God that transforms me and through me transforms the homes, the churches, the communities? Gospel ... Gospel of the Cross ...... But the problem is that I already believe in the Gospel. I believe in Jesus ... What do I need to do more...?  Even though I gave you the homework last week and wondered how to explain the problem this week.

기억나는 일이 하나 있었습니다. 한 10년 전 쯤에 설교를 통해서 제게 군대생활을 하면서 사격 훈련에서 있었던 사건 하나를 소개했습니다. 기억 나십니까? 주보에 실었으니까 자세하게 한 번 더 읽어보시기 바랍니다. 간략하게 소개하면 이런 이야기입니다. 

There was one thing that I remembered. About a decade ago, I talked about a case in the military shooting training. Do you remember?  I put it in the church program so please read it in detail once more.   But let me tell you briefly what it was about. 

 

제가 이래뵈도 공군 의장대장 출신입니다. 27세 늦은 나이에 군대를 가게 되어서 제일 고급스럽게 생활한다는 공군장교로 지원해서 군생활을 했습니다. 장교생활 3년차 정도 되었던 것 같습니다. 물이 빠질 대로 빠진 상황이었습니다. 하루는 사격훈련이 있었습니다. 장교들은 권총사격을 합니다. 그때 저희들의 생각에는 그것이 제법 멋있었습니다. 영화에서 본 온갖 폼을 잡으면서 내기를 하면서... 사격연습을 합니다. 아마 그날은 1인당 20발씩 쏘기로 했던 것 같습니다, 단기 사병들이 장교 한 사람에 한 사람씩 붙어서 보조를 합니다. 사격하기 전에 탄창을 준비해주고 사격을 마치면 탄피를 줍는 일을 합니다.

At the age of 27, I was an officer in the air force.  After 3 years in the military, one day there was shooting training. Officers shot pistols. At that time, we thought it was pretty fun.  It was decided to shoot 20 shots per person that day.  Lower ranking solders assisted each officer. He prepares the magazine before shooting and collects the cartridge when the officers finished shooting.

 

그날 저를 도와주던 단기 사병은 제대를 한 달 앞 둔 서울에서 대학을 다니다가 온 김상병이었습니다. 똘똘하기도 하고 넉살도 좋아서 사석에서는 형님이라고 부르기도 했었습니다. 김상병은 장전된 총을 제게 주면서 “대장님... ”하고는 눈을 찡긋찡긋했습니다. 평소에도 권총을 한번 쏴보고 싶다고 조르던 친구였습니다. 탄창 하나에 8발이 들어가기 때문에 20발을 쏘려면 보통 7,7,6으로 탄창을 준비합니다. 먼저 7발을 쐈습니다. 두 번째 탄창을 주면서 다시 눈을 찡긋거렸습니다. “제대하기 전에 딱 한번만... 대장님, 형님....” 모른 척 하고 7발을 쐈습니다. 마지막 6발을 쏴야 합니다. 김상벽이 마지막 탄창을 붙들고 놓지를 않았습니다. “대장님, 정말 이러실 수 있습니까? 이번에도 다 쏘면 저 실망합니다.” “시꺼, 임마! 너 하나 부탁 들어주면 다른 녀석들 다 들어줘야 해!” 탄창을 억지로 뺐었습니다. 6발을 다 쐈습니다. 김상병은 정말 분노(?)했습니다. “정말 너무 하시는 거 아닙니까? 제가 그렇게 부탁했는데 한 발 정도는 주실 수 있는 거 아닙니까?” “짜샤, 빨리 탄피나 주워… 무슨 말이 그렇게 많아!” “싫습니다. 직접 탄피 주우세요. 다 쏘신 거잖아요.” “너 빨리 탄피 안주워?” “너무 하신 거 아닙니까?” “뭐가 너무해, 임마.... 단기 사병이 무슨 권총을 쏘냐?” “그래도 다음 달에 제대하는데 한번쯤 쏠 수 있는 거 아닙니까?” “이 녀석이… 귀엽다, 귀엽다 하니까… 빨리 탄피 주워” “배 째십시오. 저 못합니다.” 김상병은 제 손에 들려 있던 총을 자기 이마에 대고는 “차라리 저를 쏘십시오.”라면서 떼를 썼습니다. 총을 다 쏜 동료들이 깔깔대고 웃으면서 보고 있었습니다. “으이그, 이 자식을 확…” 그러자 김상병은 더 “쏘십시오. 기왕에 권총 한번 못 쏴보고 제대하는 거 공총이라도 맞고 제대할랍니다.” 

 

The soldier who helped me was Kim Sang-Byeong, who has only one month to be discharged from the air force. He was close to me like a brother. Kim gave me a loaded gun and said, "Captain ..."  He was a friend who had always wanted to shoot a pistol.  I shot seven bullets first. He gave me second magazine and asked again. "Just one time before I am discharged ... Captain, my brother ...." I shot seven again pretending not to hear.  Kim grabbed the last magazine and did not let go. "Captain, can you really do this? I am disappointed if you shoot it again this time. I responded by saying “If I listen to you, I have to do for other guys.” I forcibly removed the magazine from him and shot the 6 bullets.  Kim was really angry.  "Is it asking too much? You can’t even let me shoot one?  I responded by asking him to pick up the shells. 

He then move the pistol that I am holding to his forehead and ask me to shoot stating that if I don’t get to shoot once, I rather get shot once. 

정말 방아쇠를 당겨버릴까 하는 생각도 들었습니다. 총알은 없지만 아무리 친해도 장교 체면이 있는데 너무 버릇없이 군다는 생각이 들었기 때문입니다. 하지만 머리 속에 스쳐 지나가는 두 가지 생각이 있었습니다. 하나는 사격에 관한 수칙이었습니다. 반드시 지정된 사격을 마치면 허공에다가 2-3차례 공중격발을 하라는 것이었습니다. 사람은 실수할 수 있기 때문입니다. 그래서 군에서는 이런 말을 만들었습니다. “공총을 맞으면 3년간 재수가 없다…” 뿐만 아니라 아무리 계급의 차이가 있지만 사람에게 총구를 겨누고 격발을 하는 것은 예의가 아니지 않겠습니까? “내가 확 쏴버리고 싶지만 너 제대하는 마당에 재수 없을까봐 참는다” 저는 허공을 향해 방아쇠를 당겼습니다. “빵!” 순간 모든 것이 정지되었습니다. 저와 김상병도, 웃으면서 지켜보던 사람들도 멍하니 제가 쏜 총을 보고 있었습니다. 마지막 탄창에 총알이 한 발 더 장전되어 있었던 것입니다. 아마도 김상병이 권총을 쏴보고 싶은 생각에 한 발을 더 넣은 것 같았습니다. 김상병은 털썩 주저앉았습니다. 조금 전까지 그 총을 이미에 대고 입에 대고 쏘라고 야단이었었습니다. “너 이 탄창에 총알 몇 발 넣었어?” “어… 어....” 김상병은 말을 제대로 잇지 못했습니다. “어... 대...대장님, 감사합니다. 감사합니다....”를 연발했습니다.

가끔 그때 생각을 합니다. 정말 중요한 한 순간이었습니다. 늘 농담처럼 가볍게 여기던 원칙이었습니다. 그런데 그것을 지키는 것이 저의 인생을 보호했습니다. 원칙은 지켜야 능력이 됩니다. 그저 알고만 있고, 생각만 하고, 말만 하는 원칙은 참 미련한 것입니다.

 

I really thought about pulling the trigger. I knew there was no bullet, I didn’t think it was right thing to do.  There were two thoughts in the head. One was a rule about shooting. The rule was that when we had finished the designated shooting, we had to shoot in the air 2 or 3 times just to make sure nothing is in the chamber.  People can make mistakes.   I pulled the trigger toward the air. Suddenly, a shot fired from the supposedly empty gun.  At the moment everything stopped. Me and other men who were laughing were all stopped.  Apparently, there was one more bullet loaded in the last magazine. Perhaps Kim Sang-bong seemed to have added another one so that maybe he can shoot one.  Kim sat down on the ground. A while ago, he was asking me to shoot him on the head.  "How many bullets did you put in this magazine?" "Uh ... Uh .... "Kim was not able to speak properly.  He just said,  “thank you Captain.” 

Sometimes I think about it but it was a really important moment. It was the principle that I always make a joke and take them lightly.  But that principle or rule protected my life.  Just knowing the principle is not enough.  We have to keep and act on the principle. 

1. 에서의 한숨

제가 늘 강조하는 말씀이 있습니다. 예수를 믿지 않는 사람에게는 “예수를 믿으면 구원을 얻습니다.” “하나님은 당신을 사랑하시며 당신을 위한 놀라운 구원의 계획을 가지고 계십니디.”라는 말씀이 복음입니다. 그렇다면 복음을 이미 받아들인 우리들에게는, 예수 믿는 우리들에게는 무엇이 복음입니까? 

I always have something to emphasize. To those who do not believe in Jesus, it is the gospel that says, "Believe in Jesus, to be saved." "God loves you and has a wonderful plan of salvation for you." For those of us who have already accepted the gospel, what is the gospel to us who believe in Jesus?

 

예를 들어 야곱과 에서를 한번 생각해 보십시오. 에서는 하나님을 믿었을까요, 믿지 않았을까요? 아브라함과 이삭의 장자 아닙니까? 당연히 어려서부터 삶으로, 말씀으로 하나님을 배우고 알지 않겠습니까? 그런데 그가 아브라함과 이삭을 잇는 축복의 계보에서 제외됩니다. 성경은 그 이유를 이렇게 말합니다. “야곱이 떡과 팥죽을 에서에게 주매 에서가 먹으며 마시고 일어나 갔으니 에서가 장자의 명분을 가볍게 여김이었더라”(창 25:34) 에서를 오늘날로 말하면 우리와 별 다를 바 없는 성도였을 것입니다. 나면서부터 언약의 가정에서 태어나서 제사하고 하나님을 섬기고 당연히 축복을 받는다고 생각했을 것입니다. 내가 의지를 가지고 노력하지 않아도 복은 당연히 내꺼라고 생각하는 안일함이 그의 삶을 바꿔놓았습니다. 에서는 아마도 야곱에게 팥죽 한 그릇을 얻어먹기 위해 장자의 명분을 농담처럼 팔아버린 그때를 생각하면서 깊은 후회의 한숨을 쉬지 않았을까요? 그에게 있어서 복음은 그가 언약의 백성 가운데 있다는 것이었겠지만 그가 실천해야 할 삶에서의 복음은 그 복을 귀하게 여기고 복 받은 자로서의 삶에 성실해야 하는 것입니다. 그는 실패했습니다.

For example, think of Jacob and Esau. Did Esau believe in God or not? Is he not the son of Abraham and Isaac? Of course, from childhood to life, he learned about God. But he is excluded from the genealogy of the blessing that connects Abraham and Isaac. The Bible tells us why. "Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew. He ate and drank, and then got up and left. So Esau despised his birthright." (Genesis 25:34).  He would have thought that since he was born in the God serving family, he would be automatically blessed.  Even if he did not try his best, he thinks he will get the blessing.  Perhaps he regretted, thinking of the time when Jacob sold a bowl of bell peppers to him and sold his first name as a joke. For him the gospel may be that he is among the people, but he failed to apply the Gospel in his life

. 아간과 아나니아의 선택

출애굽 시대의 아간과 예루살렘 교회의 아니니아도 같은 맥락에서 생각할 수 있습니다. 아간은 출애굽이라는 큰 은혜를 경험한 사람입니다. 유다지파의 자손입니다. 구원 받은 이스라엘 백성 중에 있고, 여리고성이 어떻게 함락되는지를 삶으로 경험했습니다. 그런데 그의 눈앞에 하나님께서 분명히 금지한 여리고성의 재물이 보입니다. 그가 하나님을 몰랐던 것 아니고, 그가 여리고성을 함락할 때 여호수아가 선포한 금지된 사항들이 무엇인지 몰랐던 것 아닙니다. 다만 재물에 마음의 한 부분을 빼앗겼던 것뿐입니다. 예루살렘교회의 아나니아 또한 마찬가지입니다. 그는 목숨 걸고 예수를 믿어야 했던 예루살렘 교회의 성도입니다. 그에게 복음이 있었을까요? 예, 그렇습니다. 그는 복음을 믿어서 성도가 되었습니다. 그는 자신의 재산을 정리해서 교회에 헌신할 수 있는 정도의 믿음을 가진 사람입니다. 다만 그 중심에 문제가 있습니다. 그는 신앙의 행위와 이기적인 명예욕이 동기가 되는 행위를 구별하지 못했습니다. 복음이 없어서가 아니라 복음이 그의 삶의 선택에 동기가 되지 않았습니다. 

 

In the same context, we can think of Achan in the Exodus and Ananias in the church in Jerusalem. Achan is a man who has experienced the great grace of the Exodus. The descendants of the tribe of Judah. He is living among the saved Israelites and experienced how Jericho is being captured. In front of his eyes, however, he sees the wealth of Jericho, which God has forbidden. He knew that those were forbidden.   The same is true of Ananias in the Jerusalem Church. He is the member of the church in Jerusalem, who had to put his life to believe in Jesus. Did he have the gospel? Yes he did. He believed in the gospel. He is a man of faith who donated his own property and devote himself to the church. But there is a problem at the center. He was unable to distinguish between the acts of faith and the motivations of selfish. Not because there was no gospel, but because the gospel was not motivated by his choice.

 

 

아간과 아나니아는 믿는가 믿지 않는가...의 문제로 징계를 받은 것이 아닙니다. 복음의 유무가 그들에게 문제가 된 것이 아니라는 말입니다. 그들의 문제는 어디에 있습니까? 그들의 삶에서 복음은 좀 미련한 것입니다. 힘이 없습니다. 쓸모가 없습니다. 내 마음과 삶의 한 구석에 있기는 합니다. 하지만 그 복음은 이들의 마음과 삶의 선택에 대해 어떤 영향도 미치지 못합니다. 내가 이스라엘 백성이고 구원 받은 교회의 성도이다....라는 확신을 주는 악세사리에 불과합니다. 하나님은 그들을 책망하시고 징계하셨습니다. 왜 돌이켜보지 않았는가? 라고 책망하시는 하나님의 마음을 아시겠습니까? 왜 너희들에게 허락한 복음으로 너희의 선택을 바꾸지 않았는가를 묻고 계십니다. 내가 아들의 죽음을 통해서 허락한 복음을 너희는 쓰레기로 만드는가...?

 

Achan and Ananias are not disciplined by the question of whether they believe or do not believe. The presence of the gospel is not a problem for them. Where are their problems?  Gospel has no power. It is useless. It’s in the corner of their mind and life. But the gospel has no impact on their minds and choices of life. It’s only an accessory to the conviction that they are people of Israel and a church. God punished them. Why did not you look back? Do you know the heart of God who is rebuking you? Why didn’t they repent? Why they didn’t change their choices with the gospel. Why did they trash the Gospel that was sacrificed by death of Son?

 

3. 부자 청년의 쳐진 어깨

좀 더 구체적으로 볼까요? 예수님께 제발로 찾아온 한 바리새인 청년이 있습니다. 그는 바리새인이지만 예수님께 관심이 많았습니다. 진리가 예수님께 있다는 사실을 알고 인정한 사람입니다. 그는 구원과 생명에 관한 질문을 합니다. 예수님은 그에게 복음을 주십니다. 예수님이 그에게 주신 복음은 정확하게 ‘십자가’입니다. 그는 율법을 지켰다고 말하고 예수님은 나와 함께 십자가를 져야 한다고 말씀합니다. 성경은 그가 재물이 많았기 때문에 십자가를 선택하지 못했다고 정리합니다. 그는 쳐진 어깨로 돌아갔습니다.

Let’s look into more detail? There is a Pharisee young man who came to Jesus. He was a Pharisee, but he was interested in Jesus. He recognized and acknowledged that truth is to Jesus. He asks questions about salvation and life. Jesus gives him the gospel. The gospel Jesus gave him is precisely the 'cross'. He says he kept the law and Jesus says that he should take the cross with me. The Bible says that he could not choose the cross because he had many riches. He returned home disappointed.

그는 위험을 무릅쓰고 예수님께 찾아와서 질문했습니다. 그의 삶에 복음이 도전합니다. 그가 복음을 일단 붙들었습니다. 자, 그는 그 복음을 들고 산을, 강을, 거친 광야를 넘어설 수 있을까요? 그 복음은 그의 삶의 능력이 되고 변화의 동기가 될 수 있을까요? 그는 복음을 붙들고 평생 자기의와 함께 붙들어 온 율법을 버릴 수 있을까요? 여러분... 아마도 그는 어느 정도... 그럴 수도 있는 사람처럼 보입니다. 바리새인이라는 명예도 버릴 수 있고, 사회적 신분의 기득권도 버릴 수 있고, 평생 자기 삶을 지탱해온 율법도 버릴 수 있는 사람처럼 보입니다. 그런데 말입니다..... 그가 복음을 들고 이 산, 저 산... 잘 넘다가 딱... 가로막히는 한 산을 만납니다. 성경은 그가 결국 넘지 못했던 높디 높은 산, 그 산을 재물의 산이라고 말합니다. 그는 바리새인으로서 예수께 와서 진리를 묻습니다. 십자가의 거룩한 진리 - 그는 이 진리 앞에서 무릎을 꿇습니다. 그런데... 그것이 옳다고 인정은 하겠는데... 딱 한 가지를 포기하지 못하겠습니다. 재물입니다. 십자가로 말미암은 생명의 길을 선택하고 싶지만, 이 세상에서 재물 없이는 살 수 없을 것 강습니다. 그의 삶에서 가치가 드러나고 신(神)이 무엇인지 드러나는 순간입니다. 그는 이 신을 선택하고 복음을 등집니다. 

 

He came to Jesus with risk and asked questions. The gospel challenges his life. He once held the gospel. Now, can he hold the gospel and cross the mountain, the river, the wilderness? Could the gospel be the power of his life and the motive of change? Can he abandon the law which held him all his life?  Gentlemen ... Perhaps he seems to be ... somebody who might be. It seems like someone who can throw away the honor of being a Pharisee, abandon the vested rights of social status, and abandon the law that has sustained life for the rest of his life. But he is able to overcome those mountains except one.  The Bible tells us that this is a high mountain, a mountain of riches. He comes to Jesus as a Pharisee and asks for truth. The Holy Truth of the Cross - He kneels before this truth. But ... he admit that he can not give up just one thing. Riches.  He wants to choose the way of life through the cross, but he can not live without it in this world. It is the moment when the value is revealed in his life and what God is revealed. He chooses the riches and turn away from Gospel.

 

4. 복음을 들고 산을 넘는 사람들

오늘 본문에서 우리는 사울의 변화를 만납니다. 그는 부활하신 예수님을 만났습니다. 자신의 신념과 삶이 무너지는 순간입니다. 무엇이 옳고 그른지가 확연하게 드러나는 순간, 그는 아무 것도 볼 수 없는 사람이 되었습니다. 아니 보인다고 한들 그는 삶의 방향을 잃은 사람이 되었습니다. 자신의 신념 때문에 사람을 죽이고 가두고 고문했었습니다. 그런데 자신의 신념이 틀렸다는 분명한 사실 앞에 섰을 때 그는 아무 것도 볼 수 없었습니다. 그는 성도들을 잡아서 가두기 위해, 진리를 어두운 감옥에 가두기 위해 다메섹으로 가던 길에서 진리를 만났습니다. 아무 것도 볼 수 없는 상태가 되어서 다른 사람의 손을 잡고 다메섹으로 들어갑니다. 그는 사흘동안 먹지도, 마시지도, 보지도 못하는 사람이 되었습니다.

 

In today's text, we meet Saul's change. He met the risen Jesus. It is the moment when his beliefs and life collapsed. As soon as it became clear what was right and wrong, he became a man who could not see anything. No, he was a person who lost his way of life. Because of his beliefs, he had killed and tortured people. But when he stood before a clear fact that his beliefs were wrong, he could not see anything. He met the truth on his way to Damascus to seize the Christians.  He grabbed the hand of another person and enter Damascus. He became a person who could not eat, drink, or see for three days.

다메섹에는 아나니아라는 성도가 있었습니다. 아마도 다메섹에 있는 교회의 지도자 쯤 되었던 것 같습니다. 하나님께서 그를 부르십니다. 사울에게 가라 말씀하십니다. 그는 갈 수가 없습니다. 사울이 자신들을 박해하기 위해 다메섹으로 온다는 소문이 파다합니다. 그가 앞이 보이지 않아서 자신들을 찾아올 수 없는 것은 참으로 다행스러운 일인데... 하나님은 지금 자신더러 그를 찾아가라고 말씀하십니다. 할 수 없습니다. 그런데 하나님께서 하나님의 계획을 그에게 말씀하십니다. 동의가 될까요? 저는 안될 것 같습니다. 하나님, 하필이면 그런 사람을 들어서 쓰십니까? 그가 과거에 어떤 악행을 했는지 잘 아시지 않습니까? 그의 회개를 믿을 수 없고, 그의 회개가 진실이라 한들 저는 받아들일 수 없습니다. 그의 손에 피 흘린 형제들이 얼마나 많습니까? 그는 용서 받을 수 없는 사람입니다.... 뭐 이런 이야기를 할 수 있지 않을까요? 그런데 하나님께서 말씀하십니다. “주께서 이르시되 가라 이 사람은 내 이름을 이방인과 임금들과 이스라엘 자손들에게 전하기 위하여 택한 나의 그릇이라 그가 내 이름을 위하여 얼마나 고난을 받아야 할 것을 내가 그에게 보이리라 하시니”(행 9:15-16) 그는 자신의 생각과 감정을 넘어섭니다. 두려움을 넘어섭니다. 사울을 찾아가서 그에게 안수하고 복음을 전합니다. “아나니아가 떠나 그 집에 들어가서 그에게 안수하여 이르되 형제 사울아 주 곧 네가 오는 길에서 나타나셨던 예수께서 나를 보내어 너로 다시 보게 하시고 성령으로 충만하게 하신다 하니”(행 9:17) 그를 형제라고 부르는 것, 어쩌면 죽기보다 싫고 스스로 죽는 것보다 어려울 수 있습니다. 그를 다메섹 교회로 데리고 가는 것... 정말 위험한 일일 수 있습니다. 그런데 그는 복음에 순종합니다. 

 

In Damascus there was Ananias. Perhaps it was the leader of the church in Damascus. God calls on Him. God told him to go to Saul. He can not go. There is a rumor that Saul is coming to Damascus to persecute them. It is fortunate that he can not come to see him.  God tells him to go to him now. He probably ask God, “Do you know what evil he has done in the past? I can not believe his repentance, and I can not accept that his repentance is true. How many brothers bleed in his hand? He is a person who can not be forgiven .... I wonder if we can talk about this?”  But God speaks. The Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name."  (Acts 9: 15-16) He goes beyond his own thoughts and feelings. He overcame fear. He went to Saul and lay hands on him and tell the gospel. "Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord--Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here--has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.""(Acts 9:17) Maybe it's harder than dying and more difficult than calling him a brother. This can be really dangerous. But he obeys the gospel.

교회는 어떻습니까? 불과 3일전까지만 해도 그가 오면... 잔멸자, 성도와 교회를 핍박하여 잔멸한다는 사울이 오면.... 형제와 부모와 자녀를 잃을 각오를 하고 있었던 성도와 교회는 과연 사울을 형제로 맞이할 수 있을까요? 의심과 분노와 원망 없이 사울을 품을 수 있을까요? 성경은 사울이 다메섹에 있는 성도들과 함께 지내며 회당으로 가서 복음을 전했다고 했습니다. 모든 유대인들이 놀라고 이방인들이 복음을 받았다고 했습니다. 

How about the church? Only three days before he comes ...churches were ready to lose their brothers and parents.  Can they meet him as a brother?  The Bible says that Saul lived with the Christians in Damascus and went to the synagogue to preach the gospel. All the Jews were amazed and said that the Gentiles had received the Gospel.

그리고 정작 중요한 변화는 사울에게 있습니다. 사울의 삶에 찾아온 흑암.... 그 흑암 속에 있는 자신을 발견했을 때 사울은 어떤 생각이 들었을까요? 하나님은 그에게 하나님의 사람을 보내십니다. 기도했을 때 그의 눈에서 비늘 같은 것이 떨어졌다고 했습니다. 그의 눈과 마음을 가리고 있던 장벽이 무너졌습니다. 그의 시선이 변하고 마음이 변하고 가치가 변하고 삶의 지향이 변합니다. 복음이 그에게 다가왔고, 그의 마음에서 복음 아닌 모든 것을 내려놓습니다. 복음이 삶의 원리가 되고 동기가 되고 목적이 됩니다. 십자가가 진리임을 발견한 사울, 이제 십자가가 인생의 목적이 됩니다. 믿음이란 이런 것입니다.

And the important change is Saul's. The darkness that came to Saul's life .... What did Saul think when he found himself in the darkness? God sends a man of God to him. When he prayed, he said that something like scales fell from his eyes. The barrier that covered his eyes and heart collapsed. His gaze changes, his mind changes, his values change, his life orientation changes. The gospel approached him, putting everything out of his heart that was not the gospel. The gospel becomes the principle of life, motivation and purpose. Saul found that the cross was true, and now the cross is the purpose of life. This is the Faith.

저는 오늘 여러분께 여러 사람을 소개했습니다. 그들에게는 같은 점이 있고 다른 점이 있습니다. 같은 점은 하나님이 그들의 삶의 정황을 따라 허락하신 복음을 각각 만났다는 것입니다. 언약의 자손이었고, 택함 받은 이스라엘 백성이었고, 초대교회의 성도였고, 핍박자였고, 이방 지역에까지 흩어진 성도요 교회였습니다. 그들 모두에게 하나님을 복음을 허락하셨습니다. 그렇다면 다른 점은 뭘까요? 어떤 사람들은 복음이 그들에게 들어왔지만 그들의 습관, 가치, 욕심, 본성을 선택했습니다. 어떤 사람은 복음이 들어오자 복음에 합당하지 않은 것들을 넘어서고 버리고 지나갑니다. 복음을 들고 산을 넘고 강을 건너고 들판을 지납니다. 오직 복음이 인도하는 삶을 선택합니다. 그리고 우리들 자신에게 묻습니다. 우리와 그들은 어떤 같은 점, 어떤 차이가 있습니까? 우리는 어느 편에 속한 사람들입니까? 저는 여러분께 십자가의 복음이 진리냐고 묻고 있는 것이 아닙니다. 저의 질문은 성도와 교회라는 이름으로 살아가는 우리가 십자가를, 복음을, 예수 그리스도를 미련하고 어리석은 것으로 만드는 삶을 살고 있습니까? 능력으로, 영광으로 만드는 삶을 살고 있습니까? 우리가 십자가의 삶의 원칙을 선택할 때, 십자가는 우리의 능력이 되고 영광이 되어서 세상의 유혹과 시험으로부터 우리를 보호하여 하나님의 나라로 인도할 것입니다.

 

I introduced many people to you today. They have the same thing and different things. The same thing is that everyone has met Gospel. They were the descendants of the covenant, the chosen Israelites, the people of the early church, the persecutor, and the people who were scattered throughout the Gentiles. So what's the difference? Some people have received the gospel but they chose habits, values, greed and nature. Some people go over and over things that are not worthy of the gospel as they come in. They take the Gospel, cross the mountain, cross the river, and cross the fields. We only choose life that the gospel leads. And we ask ourselves. What are the differences between us and what they are like? Which side are we on? I am not asking you if the gospel of the cross is true. My question is whether we, living in the name of Christ and the church, live a life of cross, the gospel, and make foolishness of Jesus Christ? Do you live a life of power and glory? When we choose the principle of life on the cross, the cross will become our power and glory to protect us from the temptations and temptations of the world and lead us into the kingdom of God.
